Important Information About Working With Us

These Terms & Conditions apply to all quotations, works, contracts, and services provided by Daydream Homes (Hampshire) Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accepting a quote, paying a deposit, or allowing work to commence, the customer (“you”, “your”) agrees to these Terms & Conditions.

We specialise in construction, plastering, renovations, maintenance, and refurbishment works across Hampshire.

2. QUOTATIONS & PRICING

2.1. All quotations are valid for 30 days from the date issued unless otherwise stated.
2.2. Quotations are based on the information available at the time. Any changes, additions, or unforeseen issues may result in price adjustments.
2.3. Materials and labour are estimated based on current market rates. If materials prices increase before or during the job, we reserve the right to adjust the final invoice accordingly.
2.4. Any drawing, measurements, or specifications provided by you must be accurate. We are not responsible for errors arising from incorrect information supplied by the customer.

3. ACCEPTANCE OF WORK

3.1. Acceptance can be made by email, written confirmation, deposit payment, or allowing work to start.
3.2. Once accepted, the agreed start date may change depending on weather, supplier delays, previous project overruns, sickness, or unforeseen circumstances. We will communicate all changes as soon as possible.

4. PAYMENTS

4.1. A standard deposit of 25% is required to secure booking and cover initial materials.
4.2. Medium and large projects are billed in agreed stages.
4.3. Final payment is due on completion of works. All invoices must be paid in full on the day of completion unless otherwise agreed in writing. Keys, certificates, warranties, and final documents are only realised once full payment is made.
4.4. Late balances may incur a reasonable late payment charge of up to 10% to cover administrative time, delays, and labour rescheduling. Charges begin after 7 days overdue.
How charges are applied:
A revised invoice will be issued with the late fee added on top of the original balance. The new invoice will clearly show the:

- Original amount due
- Late payment charge (10% of full invoice)
- New total amount payable
(Charges for late payment are outside the scope of VAT.)

4.5. After 14 days overdue, further reasonable charges may apply if debt recovery or repeated visits/chasing is required.
4.6. We accept most major debit and credit cards, bank transfers, Stripe payments including Klarna, Apple Pay, Google Pay. A Stripe payment link is provided on all Quickbooks invoices for convenience.

5. MATERIALS & SUPPLY

5.1. All materials remain the property of Daydream Homes until the final invoice is paid.
5.2. If materials are supplied by you, we are not responsible for delays, defects, shortages, or compatibility issues.

6. CHANGES & ADDITIONAL WORK

6.1. Any additional work requested during a project (“variations”) will be priced separately and must be approved before being carried out.
6.2. Hidden issues such as damp, rot, structural movement, asbestos, faulty electrics/plumbing, or unsafe areas may result in additional costs once uncovered.

7. ACCESS & CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

7.1. You must provide safe and uninterrupted access to the property during agreed working hours.
7.2. We require access to basic utilities, including:

- Electricity (for tools, lighting, equipment)
- Water (for mixing materials, cleaning tools, welfare needs)
- Toilet facilities (or alternative arrangements must be agreed in advance)

7.3. If utilities are unavailable or access is restricted (e.g., no key available, tenant not present, unsafe conditions), additional charges may apply for wasted labour time or rescheduled work.
7.4. Areas where work will be carried out must be cleared of personal items unless agreed otherwise.

8. HEALTH & SAFETY

8.1. We operate under UK Health & Safety legislation.
8.2. Work areas must be safe and free from hazards not caused by us.
8.3. Children and pets must be kept away from active work areas.

9. WASTE REMOVAL

9.1. Standard waste created by us is removed unless you quote states otherwise.
9.2. Large items, rubble, old kitchens/bathrooms, or excessive waste may require skips at additional cost.

10. ELECTRICAL & GAS WORKS

10.1. All electrical and gas work is carried out by qualified subcontractors where required.
10.2. We are not responsible for pre-existing faults discovered during the job.

11. PLASTERING, PAINTING, RENDERING & DRYING TIMES

11.1. Plaster, render, and other wet trades require appropriate drying times before painting or finishing.
11.2. We are not responsible for cracks caused by:

- Building movement
- Customer painting too early / too late
- Moisture issues in the property
-Improper ventilation

12. RESIN, MICROCEMENT & SPECIALIST FINISHES

12.1. Specialist finishes require controlled conditions (temperature, ventilation, moisture).
12.2. We cannot guarantee results if instructions (e.g., no walking time, no heavy objects, no water exposure) are ignored.
12.3. Colour batches may vary slightly - this is normal for resin, microcement, and plaster products.

13. DAMAGE & LIABILITY

13.1. While we take care around your property, minor cosmetic damage (scuffs, marks, dust) is sometimes unavoidable during construction.
13.2. We are not responsible for damage caused by:

- Poor existing structure
- Old plumbing/electrics
- Hidden defects
- Customer-supplied materials

13.3. Customers must report any concerns within 7 days of completion.

14. CANCELLATIONS

14.1. Cancellation within 7 days of the start date may result in loss of deposit.
14.2. If materials have already been purchased, you may be charged for them.

15. WARRANTIES & AFTERCARE

15.1. Workmanship is covered for 12 months unless otherwise stated.
15.2. Materials are covered by manufacturer warranties.
15.3. Normal wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, or lack of maintenance are not covered.

16. PHOTOS & MARKETING

16.1. We may take before/after photos of work completed for portfolio, website, and social media use.
16.2. Your address and personal details will never be shared publicly.
16.3. If you prefer no photos, please notify us in writing before work begins.

17. COMPLAINTS

17.1. If you are unhappy with any aspect of the work, contact us within 7 days.
17.2. We will assess the issue and aim to resolve it as quickly as possible.
17.3. Complaints must be reported before any third party attempts repair, or warranty may be void.

18. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY & FORCE MAJEURE

We are not liable for:

- Delays beyond our control
- Damage caused by other trades
- Loss of earnings, loss of profit, or indirect losses
- Issues arising from customer-supplied materials
- Issues caused by pre-existing faults or hidden defects

Our total liability is limited to the value of the contract.

Force Majeure

We are not responsible for delays, cancellations, or additional costs arising from events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

- Extreme weather (storms, floods, hurricanes)
- Supply chain failures or material shortages
- Pandemics, epidemics, public health restrictions
- Strikes, labour shortages, subcontractor illness
- Government restrictions or emergency regulations

In such events, timelines may be extended and rescheduled without penalty.

19. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England & Wales.
